How to be sustainable?
Nos tempos atuais, o termo sustentabilidade é tão batido e repetido a exaustão pela mídia que é praticamente impossível encontrar alguém que nunca tenha ouvido falar em meios de vida mais sustentáveis ou formas de levar uma existência em acordo com o bem estar do planeta em que vivemos.
Nowadays, the term sustainability is shopworn and exhausted by repeated media that is virtually impossible to find someone who has never heard of more sustainable modes of LIFE or ways to lead a life in accordance for the well being of the planet we live on.
Contudo, para muitos o conceito de ser sustentável ainda é algo estranho e longe de suas realidades. Afinal de contas, como nossas atitudes de pessoas normais e sem pretensões megalomaníacas poderia afetar o planeta e provocar alguma ameaça a existência de toda a raça humana? Como eu, que sou apenas uma formiguinha nesse enorme mundo, poderia contribuir para refrear a devastação do meio ambiente e a escandalosa onda de poluição e destruição de recursos naturais que nos assola?
However, for many the concept of being sustainable is still something strange and far from their reality. After all, HOW our attitudes of ordinary people and without megalomaniacal pretensions could affect the planet and cause a threat to the existence of the whole human race? HOW I, who am only a little ant in this huge world could help to curb the devastation of the environment, and the scandalous wave of pollution and destruction of natural resources that plagues us?
Apesar da possível incompreensão e do absurdo que possa parecer, ser sustentável individualmente pode mesmo ajudar a resguardar a vida em nosso planeta e provocar um recuo na sanha poluidora que o homem vive hoje. Mas; como?
Despite the possible misunderstanding and absurd as it may seem, can be individually sustainable even help protect life on our planet and cause a decrease in polluting fury that man lives today. but; how?
Basta ter pequenas atitudes sustentáveis ao longo de sua existência. Assim, o “ser sustentável” transforma-se numa legião de formiguinhas que juntas podem mudar o mundo e a forma como a humanidade afeta negativamente a vida em nosso mundo. Medidas simples como economizar e reciclar papel. Reciclar latas e embalagens; não queimar lixo; economizar água e energia elétrica através de um uso mais racional desses recursos; garantir que as empresas que fornecem bens e serviços para você tenham também a mesma preocupação e recusando-se a consumir produtos de origem ilícita ou que tenham sido obtidos (extraídos ou fabricados) através de meios prejudiciais a natureza.
Just take small sustainable along your existence actions. So, "being sustainable" becomes a legion of ants that together can change the world and how mankind negatively affects life in our world. Simple measures like saving and recycling paper. Recycle cans and containers; not burn garbage; save water and electricity through a more rational use of these resources; ensure that companies that provide goods and services to you also have the same concern and refusing to consume products of illegal origin or have been obtained (extracted or produced) by means of harmful nature.
Agindo desta forma, você acabará por criar “uma onda” que se propagará ao seu redor e provocará novas mudanças em outras pessoas que, por sua vez, gerarão ondas em torno de si em uma pirâmide do bem que se espalhará por toda a sociedade.
Acting this way, you will eventually create a "wave" that propagates around and cause further changes in others who, in its turn, will generate waves around each other in a pyramid of good will spread throughout society.
É claro que ser sustentável num mundo de altíssimo consumo e onde as pessoas valem pelo que podem consumir e pelo que tem e não pelo que são e pelos exemplos que produzem; esse modo de vida tem lá os seus percalços e seus inconvenientes. Mas, com o passar do tempo e com a evolução da mentalidade geral e da educação ambiental que for fornecida para as pessoas comuns; essa forma de vida será aceita por toda a sociedade como a única forma realmente possível de prolongarmos a nossa existência nessa nossa ínfima e adorável bola de pedra que chamamos de Terra.
Of course being in a world of highly sustainable consumption and where people are worth so they can eat and what they have and not what they are and the examples they produce; this way of LIFE have there their troubles and their inconveniences. But with the passage of time and the evolution of the overall mindset and environmental education that is provided for the common people; this form of LIFE will be accepted throughout society as the only way really possible to prolong our existence that our tiny and adorable ball of rock we call Earth.
Muito em breve; o “ser sustentável” estará colocado para a humanidade de uma forma até mesmo forçosa. Pois, no ritmo em que a degradação ambiental e a exploração dos recursos naturais ocorrem; o ser humano colocará sua própria existência em perigo, caso não mude seus conceitos e nem reveja a forma de encarar sua presença e sua interferência na natureza. As alterações climáticas e os problemas que só vemos aumentar a cada dia; deixarão bem claro que a mudança será uma questão de vida ou de morte.
Very soon: "Sustainable be" will be put to mankind even a forcible manner. Therefore, the rate at which environmental degradation and the exploitation of natural resources occurring; humans will put their own existence in danger, if they not change or revise their concepts and how to face their presence and interference in nature. Climate change and the problems that we see only increase every day; longer clear that the change is a matter of LIFE or death.
